Samsung hit with $25 million semiconductor ip verdict

Stephen Dell, Founder and President of NOVUM, was retained as the damage’s expert on behalf of Acorn Semiconductor, LLC where he provided testimony regarding Samsung’s patent infringement on 4 of Acorn semiconductor technology patents.  The collection of the patents in question dealt with a technique to minimize contact resistance in small devices.  

The trial that began May 13th was overseen by Chief District Judge Rodney Gilstrap.  The jury found Samsung had infringed every patent claim Acorn had asserted and concluded Samsung pay $25 million for their misconduct.
